STATE COMPTROLLER THOMAS DINAPOLI HONORS PRESIDENT CHARLES YOON AT LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

On February 25, State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli honored KAAGNY President Charles Yoon at his annual Lunar New Year Celebration.

During the event, Comptroller DiNapoli presented President Yoon with a Proclamation recognizing his service to the broader community in New York. The Proclamation reads: “In May 2019, [Charles Yoon] was elected the 36th President of KAAGNY, and he is committed to engaging second- and third- generation Korean Americans in the organization’s community service and advocacy work, as well as leading its ‘Share the Love’ emergency food campaign for low-income New Yorkers during the pandemic.”

“What we’ve found during this difficult time is that the community does band together under very difficult conditions,” President Yoon said during the event. “The silver lining here is that we’ve become closer together, and we think that we are going to come out of this pandemic stronger.”

President Yoon was honored alongside Helen Nguyen of Saigon Social NYC and the Museum of Chinese in America (received by President Nancy Yao Maasbach.)
